The Kruger NP, affords you an opportunity to see Africa’s wildlife roaming the plains, in their natural habitat, wild and free. Our 3 day Kruger Camping Safari provides you with enough time spent on safari to see the amazing variety of wildlife that the Kruger NP has to offer. Africa’s famous park, there are 147 mammal species, more than any wildlife reserve in Africa! Of these are the Big 5. On this trip we include open vehicle drives, a sunset drive and the Blyde River Canyon panorama route.
We depart from Johannesburg between 06h00 – 07h00. The shuttle Johannesburg return is USD 130 Our route takes us through the the Highveld, down the escarpment and through the scenic Lowveld. We stop for lunch and reach the Kruger National Park and Pretoriuskop Rest Camp in the afternoon.
After settling in, you go on your first game drive which is a San Parks sunset drive. A sunset drive affords you the opportunity to see nocturnal animals that are more active at night and the rangers are allowed to return after the normal gate closing times. Note that these drives take place in one of the Kruger Park’s vehicles with a ranger. This is not a private game drive and there may be other guests on this drive. (Children under 6 years of age are not permitted on open vehicle drives.)
Dinner is a three course meal, served at our private camp within Pretoriuskop. Wine is served with dinner but guests are welcome to bring along additional / alternative drinks which can be purchased at the shop.
Safaris are all about early mornings, getting out there and seeing animals! After an early wake-up call (time varies according to the seasons and park gate opening times) we have tea or coffee & rusks (dried biscuits to be dunked in your drink) We then set off on the morning safari which will take approximately 3-4 hours. Your guide has an intimate knowledge of the park, which contributes a great deal towards brilliant sightings
On returning to Pretoriuskop, breakfast/brunch will be ready at our camp. You then have time to enjoy a swim, catch up on some sleep, visit the park shop which includes African curios, general food items and drinks. Pretoriuskop is also a bird watcher’s paradise!
After a siesta we set off on the afternoon game drive. We conduct all our game drives in specially adapted 4×4 open game drive vehicles to allow our guests the best possible vantage point.
We share safari stories at the camp fire under the stars after a scrumptious dinner served at our camp.
The sun rises over our final day in the Park and we have one last chance to find the animals that have eluded us thus far. After our morning safari we return for breakfast before returning to Johannesburg. The drive back takes about 6 hours.
We offer an optional, full day excursion to visit select attractions along the Panorama Route on all our Kruger Safaris of 3 days or longer. You’ll get to see renowned attractions like Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondavels, Lisbon Falls and God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and the glass elevator near the town of Graskop. We stop in Graskop for lunch (own expense).
