OVERVIEW

This is a Southern African delight! You visit the world’s favorite city. Cape Town and it’s surrounds have much to offer! You then fly to Johannesburg to start your 4 day Safari of the iconic Kruger National Park, renowned for it’s incredible diversity and home to the Big 5. The Blyde River Canyon. Chobe National Park in Botswana, home to the worlds largest elephant population. Then Victoria Falls, the worlds greatest waterfall situated on the mighty Zambezi river. And of course Sun City!

Day 1

Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve

Clients will be collected at OR Tambo and surrounding lodges at 6:00 – 6:30 am. Guests will make their way to Mpumalanga, travelling via the Panorama Route, visiting the Blyde River Canyon, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and the Three Rondavels. Guests will stop at Graskop to enjoy some souvenir shopping and to enjoy a delicious lunch. Guests will have time to visit God’s Window and Lisbon Falls while in the area. Guests will return to the Lodge by 17:00 pm.

Day 2

Kruger National Park & Safaris

Guests will depart from the lodge early morning to the Kruger Park. Guides will visit a variety of watering holes, rivers and lookout points throughout the day to increase their chance of spotting the Big 5. guests will have breakfast at a local picnic area and lunch at a rest camp of the guide’s choosing, which will be of own account. The safari will end at 15:30pm at which point the guests will return to the lodge for a delicious dinner.

This evening after dinner you have the opportunity to partake in a nocturnal (night) game drive with a ranger.

Day 3

Kruger National Park & safaris

The final day of the safari will start before sunrise, as the guests make their way to the Kruger Park. The guide will attempt to to find some more unique places to visit before stopping for breakfast. The safari will end at 11:30, where the guides will return the guests to the lodge. Guests will collect their luggage and sign out, traveling via air controlled buses to OR Tambo and the surrounding lodges, arriving at 17:30 – 18:00 pm.

Day 4

Sun City

This morning you leave the Kruger National Park via Nelspruit airport, arriving at Sun City in the late morning.

There’s nothing quite like it anywhere in the world and it’s a completely unique holiday experience for all ages. Sun City offers more than one hundred unforgettable activities including a vibrant casino, thrilling water parks and attractions, an internationally-acclaimed golf course and exciting wildlife tours.


The Pilansberg National Park which is a 5 min drive from Sun City is well worth a 3 hour game drive, either in the early morning or sunset. As the park is mostly grass land the Big 5 are easy to find!

Day 5

Day 6

Sun City to Cape Town

After breakfast you have time for a last activity before departing for Cape Town. Arriving in Cape Town at around 13:00 you will be met by myself or Gerry, we then transfer you to your hotel where we brief you on all aspects of your tours.

We are highly experienced and knowledgeable guides who are nationally qualified, enthusiastic and have a passion for Africa and its diversity which make our continent so exciting and unique. Our ethos is that the tour Guide is the difference between an average and a great tour. We will take care of all your needs and accompany you on your dinner transfers (no extra cost).

Day 7

Cape Winelands, Stellenbosch & Franschoek and/or Whale Coast (seasonal)

Winelands: We drive to Stellenbosch, a fertile area where oak trees, wheat and vines quickly replaced the giraffes, elephants and Khoisan peoples. Well known for its beautiful varied architecture, wines and university where the language of instruction is still mainly Afrikaans.

At an exceptional boutique wine farm we taste the local vintage including a Pinotage, South Africa’s own unique cultivar. In Paarl, we stop in front of Mandela’s statue at the entrance to the prison from which he was liberated in 1990.

In the late afternoon (time permitting), we head for the west coast to Blouberg where we enjoy a “postcard” view of Table Mountain, Robben Island and Table Bay.

The Whale Coast includes the Penguin colony, Hermanus & Porter Botanical Garden. Excellent Whale sightings from the coast, there is also the option to take a Whale cruise.

Also: an educational tour of the Cheetah program, an opportunity to caress the cubs. As your tour is private we can tailor to your desires.

Day 8

The Cape of Good Hope, Peninsula, Boat Cruise, Penguins & Groot Constantia

This region is a World Heritage site for its floral diversity. We follow the West coast with a stop at Maiden’s Cove to enjoy a magnificent view of the Twelve Apostles and Camps Bay. We continue to Hout Bay, a charming little town where we enjoy a cruise to Duiker Island, home to the world’s largest fur seal colony. The scenic Chapman’s Pass offers breathtaking scenery. Next is the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve which is where the cold Atlantic meet the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. This famous landmark was named by the early Portuguese mariners. Journeying down to the False Bay coast we lunch at the historical naval port of Simon’s Town. After lunch we visit Boulder’s beach, home to Africa’s largest penguin colony. We finish our day with a visit to Groot Constantia (time permitting), South Africa’s oldest Cape Dutch wine estate.

Tonight an authentic African dinner of many culinary dishes from across the continent, accompanied by dance, music and participatory drumming (included).

Day 9

Cape Town, Table Mountain, Ostrich farm, Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden and West Coast

We explore Cape Town and visit its historical places, like the Dutch East Indian Garden, Castle of Good Hope, the Malay quarter, District 6 and Green market square.

Next is Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden. It is the only botanical garden situated in a world heritage site and has more endemic plant species than any other in the world (time permitting). Then the West coast of Cape Town, as far as Melkbostrand. And we visit the Ostrich farm where you will get to learn and even ride these bizarre flightless desert birds. You can also visit Robben Island (half day optional) and/or Table Mountain (2 hours optional). We can organize activities that might interest you, including a Helicopter flip, Shark cage diving, Hot air ballooning, Paragliding, Whale cruise and others at our preferential rates, discounted by around 20%.

Day 10

Victoria Falls, Sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River (Zimbabwe)

Depart for Cape Town International Airport for your onward journey to Victoria Falls.

Upon arrival you will be taken to your lodge situated near the falls, time to relax and enjoy lunch while observing wildlife, a late afternoon departure for your sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi river.

On arrival back at your lodge enjoy a fine meal whilst soaking up the African bush. Bon Appetite!

Day 11

Chobe National Park safari and Boat Cruise on the Chobe River (Botswana)

Early this morning you cross the border into Botswana and continue to Chobe National Park. (1 hour transfer)

You spend 3 to 4 hours on a 4×4 safari with a professional ranger in one of Africa’s iconic parks. The Chobe National Park is world famous for its huge herd of elephants, buffalo, wild dog and big cats unmatched anywhere else in the world. After a hearty lunch on the banks of the Chobe river you debark on a safari river cruise and experience nature at its best – the river, the animals and the sunset!

Here you’ll get up close and personal with hippo, crocodile and a mind-boggling array of water birds. You can see massive herds of Elephant and Buffalo as they converge along the waterfront.

In the late afternoon you return to Victoria falls. I recommend that you enjoy your final evening at The “Boma Dinner & Drum Show” in Victoria Falls with a delicious 4 course traditional dinner followed by an interactive African drumming experience.

Day 12

Victoria Falls guided walk in the National Park & numerous optional activities

Included is a guided tour of the falls. Get ready for an amazing experience with nature!

Important: Wear a waterproof jacket and protection

Here awaits an unforgettable view of one of the most spectacular sites in the world located on the Zambezi River, between the borders of Zambia and Zimbabwe known as Mosi-oa-Tunya “the smoke that thunders” (in Shona) – It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and 7th natural wonder of the world.

The rest of the day is free to visit the town and its local craft market, cruise on the Zambezi River, or enjoy a helicopter flight over the falls, known as “the flight of angels”.


NB: Many optional activities are available: like a helicopter flip over the falls “flight with Angels”, white water rafting on the mighty Zambezi. We will send you our list, and are happy to do the bookings at our preferred rates.
